Christmas is coming....

In lieu of a family gift exchange this year we are going to do a family service project.
At Gary's Birthday party we decided to get together and assemble Hygiene kits.

Hygiene Kits are sent to orphanages, homeless shelters, medical facilities and disaster areas.

We hope to collect supplies and assemble 144 kits.

We place the following items in a heavy-duty, one-gallon sealable bag:

2 unbreakable combs - Danny & Michael are getting all the combs.
4 toothbrushes (sealed) - Jen & Steven are getting all the toothbrushes.
1 full size tube of toothpaste (6-8 ounces) - Gary and Sidney are getting all the toothpaste.
2 bars of hand soap (3.5-5 ounces each) - Jeff & Darci bought ALL the soap!!
2 hand towels (approx. 15x25)

We will meet on December 22nd at Mike & Barb's to assemble the kits and have some Christmas Treats. We hope those out of town will join us or you can do a project of your own.

Steven and Marlene are ordering the toothbrushes and perhaps some other items as well. Jen and Dick will split the cost with them.

You guys are amazing, thanks for your incredible examples! That is such a great idea!

Bobby and I have adopted a 19 yr old girl and are buying her a few presents. Our ward current ward that is doing three or so service projects in lieu of a christmas party for the ward. (We will choose one.) Well actually we are meeting for dessert after the project. I still want to do something else so I have to think about it more. It feels great to serve!

Jeff and Darci bought 288 bars of soap. We will send them home with Sid and Gary at Thanksgiving. Great idea!
